SAW AWARDS INFORMATION 2019
Saw Awards will be held at Grace United Church on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2019
Registration (Intake) is from 6:00 pm until 6:45 pm
Members' choice balloting will start at 7:00 pm
Juror will commence his/her jurying of the artwork at 7:30
All members of SAW are invited to show the best of their recent works. The art, both two-dimensional and three-dimensional, will be judged by a qualified juror and by the members themselves. New members are encouraged to participate with their art, or volunteer to help make the night a success.
Remember, there are guidelines and standards to be followed for the judging for the prizes. Please review this information here on our website www.sarniaartistsworkshop.com.
There are four awards: The Wolff Awards * 2 dimensional (juried)
* 3 dimensional (juried)
The Erika Poersch Award * 2 dimensional (members' choice)
The Dave Dunk Award * 3 dimensional (members' choice)
Award winners will receive a Certificate and a monetary award. The award money is funded by the interest earned on endowment funds invested by SAW with additional funds from the SAW general funds. The juror may also award Honourable Mention Certificates for 2D and 3D art.
Each member may enter one 2-dimensional work and one 3-dimensional work. All work must be original and complete within the last two years and not shown at a previous SAW Awards.
Our juror this year will be Cathy Earle!
Please try to arrive between 6:00 and 6:30 if you are participating in the Art Awards event. If you are a non-participant, it would be helpful if you delay your arrival until 7:00pm when the meeting will proceed with voting for the people’s choice awards.
The SAW AWARDS present a wonderful opportunity to see what talented and creative people we have in SAW. Come and see what others are doing; showcase what you are doing; and meet and mingle with your fellow members. There are several new members this year and we hope they will participate. So please come out to welcome them to SAW and get to know them and their art.
